Sister Joanna’s Table (Soup Kitchen)

Sister Joanna’s Table (Soup Kitchen)

Sister Joanna’s Table, our community Soup kitchen is open every Saturday of the year serving a hot meal between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.  All are welcome. Enter from the alley between 1st Street and Riverside Drive.

Every Saturday the host team prepares and serves a delicious, nutritional meal. Volunteers from each church plan, cook and serve the meal while conversing with the guests. In addition, churches have provided entertainment for the guests and books for the children. A special holiday meal is provided at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

In 1982, under the supervision of Sister Joanna of The House of Bread and Peace, the Community Soup Kitchen at St. Paul’s opened. Since that year there have been several leaders but it has always been a mission of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to offer the use of its facility for this wonderful ministry.

Volunteers Needed

We are in need of workers between 10 AM and 1 PM on Saturdays! Please call the church office at 812-422-9009 and leave your name and number and someone will contact you.
