Parish Life

There are many opportunities to experience true joy in companionship with one another at St. Paul’s. Our lives are blessed and enriched by the opportunity to receive God’s love through Christian fellowship as we enjoy Sunday morning coffee hour, Thursday morning men’s Bible Study and Tres Dias reunion groups.  Several adult groups meet monthly for supper and fellowship and we gather as a single parish family for worship and a pot-luck meal at least a half-dozen time a year.  On Christmas Eve and Easter morning, we have lovely receptions following our services.

The Blessing of the Animals in October is a favorite activity, as is the annual Parish Picnic in the spring. The Youth Sunday service, led by the young people of the congregation, and the Christmas pageant, starring our children and youth, are also both highly anticipated events.

At least every other year we plan a major Special Event.  Usually this involves a formal dinner and some form of entertainment.  One of the most popular Special Events is “Steak and Auction” – a wonderful steak dinner followed by a fund-raising auction led by a member of the congregation.  All of the proceeds go to support ministry that benefits people in the larger community.

Our youth gather regularly with their adult leaders for fellowship, discussion, and outreach. They work together to raise funds for a spiritual pilgrimage – a part of their Christian formation that they eagerly anticipate.  Every third year, the group decides on a destination, does research on how they can find spiritual focus in a week of travel, and then enjoys the time together with their leaders.  After they return, they celebrate with the rest of the congregation with a presentation and an informal reception.
